What is the name of your business? Little Party Dress

Where are you based? Sydney NSW

Describe your business in a few words. Online fashion boutique for ridiculously fabulous women!

Why did you start your business? After working in the marketing world for a few years, I wanted to work on something I was passionate about. And I’ve ALWAYS been passionate about fashion, and about shopping!

What were you doing before you started your biz? I worked in Digital Marketing straight out of uni for 4 years before starting LPD.

What has been your biggest challenge in business so far? Work life balance, that old chestnut 😉 Being obsessed with my business, and feeling the “guilt” of not spending enough time with family and friends. And also not having enough hours in the day!! A few more hours would be good please.

What do you love the most about being your own boss? Flexibility, and making the right decisions for ME. They might not be the right “business minded” decisions, but I have always gone with my gut, and it has seemed to work out so far…

What would you do differently if given the chance? I wouldn’t do anything differently! I feel really proud of how I got here.

In your opinion, what is the secret to a successful business? Living and breathing your brand. Never giving up, and believing in your product.

What advice do you have for our readers who want to be their own boss or are running their own small biz? Be prepared to dedicate your TIME, and YOURSELF. Running your own business is super duper time consuming to actually *make it work*. And then also put yourself front and centre, in tone of voice, style and products/services that YOU would want! And become obsessed with social media and how it works. I wouldn’t have my business without social media!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? Covered in dresses, babies & cats would be nice 🙂
